• Daily room cleaning

Not included: the Rome city tax

The city of Rome charges a tourist tax per person, per night, for the first nights of a stay. It is set by the Comune di Roma, not by us: the amount depends on the type of accommodation and can be changed by the city. We collect it on the city’s behalf and pass it on.

How much, and who does not pay

The tax is charged per person, per night, for the first 10 consecutive nights of a stay. From the eleventh night on it is no longer due. Children under 10 do not pay it at all.

Both houses are registered in category 3, so the amount is €5.00 per person, per night. For two people staying three nights that is €30.00, paid at the house. The rate is set by the Comune di Roma and can change; we confirm it again when you arrive.

The Comune di Roma also exempts some other people — residents of Rome and certain other cases set out in the city rules. If you think an exemption applies to you, tell us when you arrive and we will check it with you. We do not list them all here: the rules are the city's and they change.

Paying it, and your receipt

The city tax is paid at the house, separately from the room. Cash is simplest for us, but you can pay it by card if you prefer — just say so when you arrive.

For the stay itself you receive the fiscal document that Italian law requires. If you need a company invoice, ask us: we can issue one where the rules allow it.
